I have an application where I am providing the user the ability to
select or create a folder on a domain, using SHBrowseForFolder. When
the user selects/creates a folder on a remote computer, it returns the
UNC path of that folder.
Using ADSI IADsFileShare, I would like to create that share, but the
..Path property seems to reject the UNC. Is there a way of converting
that UNC to the logical drive path or some other way of setting the...

Hi,
Here is the simple check list.
1. First ensure that IIS is running. Type httP://localhost
in your browser and check the result. If No, please
install IIS first.
2. Create one windows application, and ensure that your
VS.net is working properly.:)
3. Now create one ASP.Net application, then tell me what
error your are getting?

Hi,
I am writing an asp.net / Active Directory application using vb.net in it's
code-behind pages. The app is running on the W2k3 (r1) domain controller
(e.g. server1). Does anyone know how to create a hidden share, from
vb.net, for an existing folder on a remote server? e.g. for a folder
\\server2\D$\foldera\folderb\123456 I want to create a share on server2
\\server2\123456$ and give user 123456 full control of that folder.

Hi There,
I'm trying to get a listing of shares from a server. The server is a

background info!)
I have some code which I copied out of the MSDN library which is
supposed to get a list of available shares from a windows server.
However when I try to access the server with this code, I get the

Hi all,
How can I create a network share for a local directory? I found it
quite easy to come up with some methods to set access rights for
directories and / or files, but I can't find any working examples
(there aren't many anyway) of how to create a network share...
Thanks in advance for your help

You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
