Hi,
I try to make an about form and put it in my own namespace/class. It works
but if I want to display eg application name, it does not. It display name of
the calss where the aboutbox is in (not the calling application). What do I
wrong ? This is what I call:
AppName.Text =
System.Reflection.Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().GetName().Name.ToString();

Hello, I am creating a function which writes logging messages to a database.
Ideally, I would like to log the assembly name which is calling my logging
function. I know that I would use Me.GetType.ToString to get the current
assembly, but that would give me the assembly name of the logging function!
Do you have any ideas? I think I would need to use the reflection class or
something like that.
(I know the easy way would be to always...

Hi
I get this error when I change something in the web.config file. When I
build the VS projects and load the first web page the application runs fine.
If I then make a save the web.config file I then get this error when I
refresh the browser. I have to restart IIS to fix the problem.
I've included the error info but it all looks very cryptic to me. How do I
find out what's really happening and how to fix it?
Thanks

I have a C# logging assembly with a static constructor and methods that is
called from another C# Assembly that is used as a COM interface for a VB6
Application. Ideally I need to build a file name based on the name of the
VB6 application. A second choice would be a file name based on the # COM
interface assembly. I have tried calling Assembly.GetCallingAssembly() but
this fails when I use the VB6 client. Is there a way to get this...

I have an ASP project written years ago that I have recently started
to try and update. It was written by someone who used to work here
before me, and the source code I have is in a major mess.
There is just one (of many) DLL file that once I recompile I get the
error mentioned above.
The located assembly's manifest definition with name '.....' does not
match the assembly reference (see snippet for full detail).

Hi
I'm stuck with the basics of CAS. I have a solution with two
projects, Assembly1 and Assembly2. Assembly1 is happily making calls
to the registry, filesystem, etc
Assembly1 calls a method on Assembly2, in the AssemblyInfo file for
Assembly2 I have these lines:

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
