Hi there,
I am working with web forms, and am finding that the standard list of
combo box events is dramatically reduced when using the dropdownlist.
For example, the only event that I can see that will trigger when a
user selects a different menu item is 'selected index changed'. I can
confirm with a separate button that the index has in fact changed
after a pulldown selection takes place, yet the internal 'selected
index changed' event didn't seem to fire.
Any suggestions?
Many thanks in advance,
Steve Jones 5 13843
Herfried,
I thought you did know the difference between a dropdown listbox (the way
Microsoft named the combobox on an aspx.vb) and a HTML dropdownbox This is a
VB.Net question,
Cor
Steve,
I agree with you
But you can of course use it with VB without any client JScript on the
server side and that I think is a big benefit
Cor
Herfried,
No, I think .dotnet.webform s.controls and when that not exist
dotnet.language s.Csharp or when VB.net is used dotnet.language s.VB
:-))))))))))))

My drop down list is populated from a static array in my codebehind (c#)
code.
I set the selected index based on some known values(from DB), when the
screen shows up, dropdown list shows that the the first items is selected and
not the one assigned.
Please note that if I hardcode the dropdown items inside the .aspx file,
everything works fine.
Please point me to examples(infopath examples somehow don't show up for me!).

Hi,
What event do I use when I want to capture the time when the user clicks an
item in a list box or a drop down list. The Selected Index Changed event
isn't working for me.
What I am trying to do is when a user clicks an item in the list box or drop
down list for information to show up in text boxes based what value the user
selected.

I have searched high and low for a solution to this and I dont think
its possible.... but I hope not.
What I have is a list of items with various values that can be changed
via a drop down. Each of the items will have a value that was
previously selected by the user. When the data is displayed, the
previously selected values must be set as the default in the drop down.
The ids of each drop down are created acording to their index in...

Hi,
On an ASP.NET page I have a drop down list control. When the user pulls
down the list and makes a selection, I perform validation, and if the
validation fails I want the selected item in the drop down box to go back to
what the value was before the user tried to change it, but at that point I
will not know what the original value was. Or is there a drop down control
"revert" method, or is there any way of knowing what the original...

I need to select multiple entries in the drop down list.
E.g. Search a string in languages like C#, VB, Java etc. These entries
are in drop down. So i need to multi select to search in multiple
languages
1. One of the option could be to have a check box beside each entry in
drop down. Do any one have an idea how to do this. Solution in C# is
required but even if its unmanaged code is OK.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
