I have read conflicting information on the access scope
of VB.Net class declarations when no access modifier is
specified. MSDN library documentation states "Classes
that do not specify an access modifier are declared as
Friend by default" However, another source, VB.Net Class
Design Handbook by Wrox Press states that no a "no class
access modifier results in an implicit scope of public to
all assemblies". In fact, if I create a class...

Hi,
I know the usage of access modifier ?public? in DLL assembliesbut I am a bit puzzled that if let say I have a public class inan exe assembly then what purpose access modifier ?public? willserver. Related to the same thing is it possible that we canexpose exe assembly like DLL assembly.
Cheers

Hi guys,
I was under the assumption that the default type access modifier for
classes/structs is internal. But the MCAD Study Guide (from MS even) says
public?!?! (The Dr. GUI .NET tutorial from MS's site says internal!!)
So which source from MS do I believe? It is internal is it not?
Thanks

I am messing around with Web User Controls at present and (think) I have
discovered the following.
1.) The identifier for the control in the code behind must match the ID for
the control on the page.
2.) The identifier must be delcared with a minimum access of 'Protected' in
order to work.
If the above is indeed correct, then I have made the following assumptions

Hi all,
What's the default access type of a property declared in an interface? The
one I'm looking at is IBindingList:
Public Interface IBindingList
....
ReadOnly Property AllowEdit As Boolean
....
End Public

I'm trying to find on MSDN, or someplace, that speaks to variables being
public or private by default. Anyone know where? Thanks.

Hello!!
If you write private class Test {} you have a private class
If you write public class Test {} you have a public class
If you write protected class Test {} you have a protected class
If you write internal class Test {} you have a internal class
Now to my question
If you just write class Test {}
what access is it then on the class Test meaning what is the default access.

Hi there,
The docs say that default access modifier is internal. My own experience has
been that it is internal. And yet almost every website Ive seen on the web
tries to tell me its public?? Am I insane?
I dont have VS2003 installed only 2005. Is this a 1.1 thing?
Thanks

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
