start a program after log in

Hi all,

I want to start a program after log in. can anyone help me?

I have a script to run an application, i want to run it after i have log in and when all the desktop environment load completely. what should i do? where should i write the script in?

It depends on your desktop environment. If you're using KDE, you'll have a Autostart directory ~/.kde/Autostart (or similar). Under Gnome, I've found one with the address /usr/share/gnome/autostart.

However, are you sure, the script should run, when the desktop environment is fully loaded? If you want it to start, when your X is started (even without logon), have a look at /etc/rc5.d (there's a README file in there).
