to store pictures

hi,
this may be a repeated question from my end. since I didn't get a reply i am posting it back.
first thing is
i want to store a photo in sql 2000. how to do it.
and when i want to get it through my front end,say vb, how can i retrieve it?

You can use IMAGE column to store binary data like pictures...although to store it in binary format, you will have to use some front-end object like in VB 6, you can use ADO's Stream object to store as well as to retrieve binary data.

I would recommend storing full path where picture is in a database and just use it to open a picture.
It will be much faster and easy to update if necessary.
