I have a temprary table with 5 million rows (A)
which needs to be appended with 90 million row table (B).
60% of the rows of the 5mil rows already exist in the big table
i need to update/merge the table A data with table B
Oracle version is 8.1.7
Please advice which method is the fastest.
i need to do it <30 mins

I have a 6.5 db that I want to create a copy of, I can move it to either
a machine running 7 or 2000. I am more used to doing this in Oracle so
pls bear with me...
I don't want to have any downtime on the 6.5 db, so I'm thinking perhaps
import is the best way to go? I am assuming that 6.5 backups are not
comaptible with either 7 or 2000 restore, or I'd go that route.
The database in question is fairly simple, pretty well just tables...

I'm trying to copy all 440 million rows from one table in my SQL Server
2005 db to another table with a different clustering scheme. After a
few test inserts that were successful (up to a million rows in 20
seconds with no problem), I crossed my fingers and went whole-hog with
the naive "insert into dest_table (column1, column2, ...) select
column1, column2, ... from source_table" but of course it ran out of
space in *both* the db log file...

I would like to copy a table(s) from SQL Server 2005 to a CVS file and vice

I was thinking to use the BCP command line utility, but I have a few

1. The machine where I am going to run BCP utility does not have SQL Server
installed, so BCP.exe and its underlying DLLs are not there.

I deleted data from table from origional table. now i want to copy the table from other copy of the database. I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
