I have recently started receiving failures on a differential backup that
previously succeeded. Nothing has changed with the structure of the db.
Here is the message, any ideas are welcomed. Thanks.

In sql server 2000, how do you manually go and truncate the logs? Does
this only occur when you create a backup? all I want to do is manually
shrink the log files. I have backups, so I don't need them.
I actually backup the db once a week and back up the logs every day,
yet the logs are getting real big. I thought this was configured in

I know with javascript setting it client side it will be set to the clients
local time, and therefore expire when the clients local time reaches the set
expire-time.
But if it is an expire time set on my server in California, and the cookie
is put on a computer that is running on London Time, and the expire time is

My company needs to move a 30 Gig SQL Server across the country as soon
as possble on July 1. Turns out moving the full db across the network
takes a few hours.
I'd like to move a full copy of db a week ahead of time, and then just
move either a differential backup(s) or transaction log with with the
week's new data on July 1.
Can anyone suggest the best strategy for doing this? Currently we're

Of course I'll try this before I go live, but I figured I'd ask
here first. I've read the docs, and the answer is unclear.
My current backup strategy is:
Take a full database backup occasionally (like, every two weeks).
Back up logs every five minutes.
This works, but restoring the database all the way through can
take a while, as I've sometimes spun through 800+ log restores.

We have a db that is accessed by users on the web 24/7. Problem is
when our maintenace job runs users are getting killed with this error:
Database Error: SQL Error #-2147217900
Transaction manager has
canceled the distributed transaction.
