Sometimes I find it handy to construct an sql string for action queries, and
then run it directly against the database and/or connection instead of using
Recordsets for simple updates.
eg. This query works in MS Access (using dbs.Execute):
UPDATE Customer SET LastContact = #2/5/2005 13:15:00#
WHERE Customer.CustomerID = 101;

I've got issue about MARS feature support in ASP.NET 2.0 and MSSQL 2.0
How to get things work?
What i've done is I got vs.net 2.0 and MSSQL 2005 installed on my pc.
Then I tried to test MARS feature following the example in the msdn
website
as the url "http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/yf1a7f4f"
to see what the asp.net 2.0 can do with multiple active result sets.

Hi,
I'm using Sybase driver under Linux and I'm trying to connect to MSSQL
server 2000.
But unfortunately connection fails.
In Event Log on my Win 2k3 SBS I'm getting the following error message:
Error: 17832, Severity: 20, State: 7
Connection opened but invalid login packet(s) sent. Connection closed.

I like to develope an application which uses a MsSQL database. I
believe that C# works really well with MsSQL. To start with, I'd like
to host the sql server locally on my machine as I develop, but later
I'd like to be able to host it on a server and have multiple instances
of the application access the server.
I have installed SQL Server 2005 Express Edition on my machine but was

Hi. I'm a newbie to PHP and am having a few problems as follows...
I have installed PHP successfully on server 1 which is running IIS 6 (W2k3) and hosting multiple sites, some of which connect to MSSQL 2k (SP4) on server 2 (using ASP).
I can load a basic 'Hellow world' PHP page hosted on server1 but when I add the code to create a simple connection to MSSQL on server 2, my PHP doesn't seem to connect nor output any of the desired query...

I've got web application created for MSSQL and IIS. There are two directories in this application - Scripts and WebSite. In Script there is file CreateDb.sql. I need to run it so that it can create database. I changed in that file one line into this:
CREATE DATABASE ON PRIMARY ( NAME = N'NameOfDb', FILENAME = N'F:\Inetpub\wwwroot\htdocs\WebSite\NameOfDb.mdf'
and the other part for the same directory but other filename...
