I know this has come up frequently but I can't seem to put my finger on
the precise problem as it applies to me. I have a workgroup with a 2003
box with Sql server on it. Also, on this, I have an XP pro machine. So
the xp pro machine is running IIS. When I try and open a connection to
the Sql Server I get the Sql Server does not exist etc.

We created a Windows Service with C#. The service will start OK on
computers that are a member of a domain, but when we try to start it on a
server that is configured for a workgroup we get the following error in the
event log:
Event ID: 7001
Description: The {Service Name}service depends on the Net Logon service
which failed to start because of the following error:

I have "Computer A" which is running Win2K3 and MS SQL server. And

My customer had a very old PC working as a peer to peer workgroup file
server. I setup a new server as a domain controller with the idea of moving
three XP PCs to a domain network. Now for budget reasons the customer wants
to stay with XP home for a few months. Is there any problem if I change a
