Subject: SQL Agent + Cluster
NNTP-Posting-Host: 80.74.102.10
Message-ID: <9d************ **************@ posting.google. com>

I have Win 2003 cluster environment + SQL 2000 SP3 with active-passive
infrastructure.
Node1 active
Node2 passive
When I stop one node and

When I am stopping a Node2 - everything is Ok - Node 1 can work in
autonomic mode and I can restart a SQL Agent without any problems

When I am stopping a Node1 - everything is Ok - Node 2 can work in
autonomic mode but I can not restart a SQL Agent (it takes a lot of
time and I receive error that login for sa is failed) When I change
SQL Agent to Windows authentication it works Ok

Any Ideas are more than welcome

Hi: I'm trying to setup a MS Cluster but I don't know if it is feasible to configure it in the way I think. I have two machines with win2k server and MSSQL-2000 one of them is currently performing as the production database and the other one is the backup. The secondary one is keeping updated via the "Log Shipping" technic.

Does anyone know if Microsoft plans to implement an C# (.net) API for MS Cluster like the one in C++? Or has someone else written a C# wrapper for the C++ API?

Validation of viewstate MAC failed. If this application is hosted by a Web Farm or cluster, ensure that <machineKey> configuration specifies the same validationKey and validation algorithm. AutoGenerate cannot be used in a cluster. The above message is what I get in my ASP.NET 2.0 page. I have debugging turned on and for those who want to see the stack trace, see below. In my old web site I had a frame set with a ASP page in left frame...

Hi, We have many servers setup as a cluster. When one server crashes, another one take the relay... We want to know if it's possible (I suppose it is) to make a Windows service developed with .NET 2.0 work in a cluster environment. I mean, how to make sure the service will take the relay if one server fails. Is there something special to do or it will work by itself? (I'm not personally used to clusters, we need it at my office and they...

Hi All, I'm hoping someone will have some words of wisdom for me regarding MS Clustering on Windows 2003. I have a service that runs on a cluster. During invocation it's supposed to determine from the cluster which node is active (this is a active/standby configuration) and either proceed or sleep depending on the status. The interface to the cluster is that advertised by the standard interop layer built by Visual Studio for the...

Hi all, I have recently changed IP addresses on my MS SQL cluster (the new IP addresses belongs to a different network). Both physical node's IP addresses and resource's IP addresses have been changed. Everything seems to work fine. The cluster is up and responding normally. The resources failover to another node when needed correctly. However, I have noticed that the time it takes for the resource to failover to another node is much...

I attempted to upgrade my SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition (32 bit) to SQL Severer 2005 EE 32 bit and while the prereqs passed the installer will not let me select the version 8.00.x (2000 SP4) database that it finds on the server. When I ckeck the install details it tells me that "Your upgrade is blocked becuase of cluster upgrade rules" I have tried searching the MS site but none of the entries I found appear to apply.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
