Hi, I have two databases on MS. SQL Server 200 the first one is the
main DB and the second one is a replica of it, both of them in
different territories .I connect them using merge replication just
when I need to merge the data.
The problem is when I make import data or export data from any
location (MS access ,MS SQL server ) to the second one (subscriber DB)
or the main DB(publisher and distributor ) ,the imported data does
not replicated to the other DB ???
Normal transaction replicated smoothly.
I hope you can help me.
Thanks in advance.

You might want to post this in microsoft.publi c.sqlserver.rep lication
to get a better answer. You should probably also mention exactly how
you are importing the data which are not replicated, eg. DTS, bcp.exe,
a custom tool etc.

One of the table that is in a merge replication somehow is missing an
index. Strangely, only the table in one of the subscriber of the merge
replication is missing the index; another subscriber and the publisher
of the merge replication don't have this problem.
How should I add the missing index back to that table? My understanding
is that making structural change on a table that is in
merge-replication is different from making change on...

I suspect this isn't possible, but I recently moved a app to SQL Server
and it contains a Project table. Now I have a new CRM tool that needs
to be mobile, but should also synch with the Project table on SQL Server.
I really like the idea of replicating an Access database for the mobile
users and somehow synching with the SQL server for the Projects. Is
that doable?

Hi
Is it possible/feasible to have two-way replication (synchronisation)
between an access database and a sql server 2005 database? I am just
wondering if it is more robust than replication between two access
databases.
Thanks

Hi
I have an application which runs on a desktop.
I want to synchronise the DB with a PDA app, which also uses SQL Server 2005
(mobile and express).
I believe that I will need to write my own synchronization application, in
order to update the data across the machines.
My questions are:
- Is there a way of picking up an event that will notify my application when
the PDA is connected to the desktop??

Hello,
Being a bit of a SQL Server novice, need some advice with the following
situation.
Server A and Server B have SQLServer 2000 based databases. The vendor
of the application/system has implemented their own replication process
to ensure the 2 databases are in sync. However, there is no clustering
with virtual IP addresses implemented. So to an external client/db, it
is 2 identical databases with the same name on 2 distinct...

Since i cannot show the differences in a two-column like table. I am first putting
MS SQL Server 2005 and then MySQL 5.x.
MS SQL Server 2005
Brief Overview
- SQL Server is a full-fledged database system developed specifically for large enterprise databases. All advanced features of a relational database are fully implemented.
- Once you purchase the product, you are only limited to the Sybase-derived engine.

On a computer that is running Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, or
Windows XP, an incorrect value is returned when an application queries
the identity column value of a newly inserted row in various versions
of SQL Server 2005 and of SQL Server 2000

Now I don't *KNOW* that this affects Access but the KB article states

Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
