Hi,
I am trying to merge data from two tables (over two servers, using
dblink). Approx 40,000 records in each. Server1(source) and
Server2(dest)
On Server1, db-link "dblink1" points to Server2
On Server2, db-link "dblink1" points to Server1
Schema names are same on the two servers.

My company maintains 40 replicated Sybase databases using a merge
replication approach. It's difficult to update all 40 databases when a
structure change occurs. Structure changes are minor, usually adding
fields.
We are considering moving to SQL Server 2000 in the hope that these
updates will be easier to do. Does SQL Server 2000 support...

I need to implement a dirt cheap replication method for some dirt
cheap servers. We are using the SQL Server workgroup license. Is
there anything in this that prevents using log shipping for
replication in Workgroup versus Enterprise?
Thanks

How would I set up secure replication between 2 servers that are in
different cities?
Would I need to define linked servers first?
Would I use SSL?
Help appreciated. Thanks.

I am trying to build a merge replication. I created publisher and
distributer at the same machine. I created PUSH Subscribtion. However,
I am getting an error from Agent
"The process could not connect to Subscriber 'MARSHWREN'."
and from Data Source
"Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON'."
If someone can help me to solve...

One of the table that is in a merge replication somehow is missing an
index. Strangely, only the table in one of the subscriber of the merge
replication is missing the index; another subscriber and the publisher
of the merge replication don't have this problem.
How should I add the missing index back to that table? My understanding
is that...

We have a situation almost exactly like that in the MS documentation
vis a vis peer-to-peer replication. We have three servers and three
user groups, one each in Chicago, New York, and Bermuda. Because of our
business practices, we are fairly confident that only one group will be
updating a given record at any one time but the users will be...

Hello,

in Oracle, DB2 & MS SQL Server RDBMS installed in Windows servers ?
I've got two servers with databases installed and configured,
I prepared set of data using DBGEN from TPC and I already imported them
into databases. Also, I configured the replication.
Now I have to...

I have an odd scenario whereby I have two SQL 2005 Servers separated by a firewall and the only means of them talking is via a 3rd party message queueing server. I have a database on each of the SQL servers that needs to be replicated in both directions...this network architecture is not of my doing and security dictates that this cannot change....

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...

I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in...
