SQL Server + SSL Hangs?

Does anyone know why SQL Server occasionally hangs when secure
connections are made via ADO?

I have to confess that I know little about SSL, but it seems to me
unlikely that SSL itself would cause SQL Server to hang.

Have you run exactly the same code, with and without SSL, to conclude
that SSL is the culprit.

And how more exactly does SQL Server "hang"? Is it completely unresponsive,
and you cannot even connect with "osql -E" on the box on which SQL Server
is running? Or could it just be that your application is blocked?

I run a Toaster Mail server with virtual domains. The users authenticate against a MySql 3..23.58 db. We have been having an ongoing issue with login's just "hanging" via both http (webmail) and IMAP (client based.) After over two months of troubleshooting, I have discovered the following, and am able to reproduce it; When "show processlist" is <100 the server is fine...logins cruise right through. Hi, The SQL server 2000 Server hangs some times. It is not periodic. It is not specific in any queries, which are taking more time to execute. Because, it is occurring for different types of applications on the same server on different machines. For the same applications when we had the SQL Server 7.0 we didn't have any problem. I can't get SQL Server to install and I can't figure out why. All I am doing is trying to install SQL Server 2000 on my Windows XP Pro (SP2) dev machine. But it just hangs - the processes SETUPSQL.EXE and SQLSTP.exe load and do nothing... Here is the full chain of events that has lead me to this impasse: 1) Try to install Sql Reporting Services. This needs a SQL Server

I'm new to .NET remoting, and I'm having trouble getting a callback to work from a server. I've been through a dozen webpages and the references available to me, but I'm still missing something. I'm trying to have a client pass a callback function to a server, and the server call it. The callback signature is determined by public interfaces referenced by both client and server. I've worked through about three problems on my own, but...

Hi, I'm having trouble creating a COM object in my ASP.NET Web Form. The COM object (IFoo) is in a DLL, but it creates another COM object (IBar) that is defined in an out-of-process COM server EXE. I added a reference to the object's DLL to my Web Form solution. I create the object with the line: FooClass foo = new FooClass();

I'm currently running some tests with WCF in In-proc environment. I have created a small winform application that starts the host in the main thread with an named pipe endpoint. If I call a method exposed by the server using the proxy from a separate thread, all is fine. However, if I do the same from the main thread, the call hangs and I get a timeoutException after 1min (default call timeout). Can anyone explain me why this hangs...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
