I guess I'm a newbie, because I am stumped (or maybe just too durned
tired). Here's what I got...

I'm on a hosted Linux server and I have an Outer Join query that's returning
on one less row than I expect. There are two rows very similar and I
expect them both returned. There are similar other cases of rows all being
returned.
I've googled: debug mysql query
I've searched on mysql.com for 'debug'
Alot comes up but all relates to queries returning errors. My query happily
returns with one row too little out of 100 rows.

I have a table which is returning inconsistent results when I query

In query analyzer:
If I do "SELECT * FROM TABLE_NAME" I get no rows returned.
If I do "SELECT COL1, COL2 FROM TABLE_NAME" I get 4 rows returned.

My boss has been adamant that SELECT DISTINCT is a faster query than
SELECT all other factors being equal. I disagree. We are linking an
Access front end to a SQL Server back end and normally are only
returning one record. She states that with disctinct the query stops
as soon as it finds a matching record. Both of us are relative novices
in database theory (obviously).
Can someone help settle this?

Hello,
Pg make query 1. and 2. very fast (use index), but for query 3. dont use
index. I can solve its using select union, but I readed so pg 7.5 don't
problem with OR operator. I use cvs pg. I used vacuum analyze first.
table sp_op_product has 15K rows, sp_op_uct 37K rows;

I'm trying to make a criteria string to use in Select() method of a datatable, searching for a date, but it is apparently not working!
In one of my tests, I have a datatable with 1 row and a field containing the following value (extracted from Immediate Window):

Folks,
I am having problem with an application that uses static SQL,
the application basically browses through the table given start and
end key most of the time it is processed from begining to end.
The db2expln tells me that there is no Data or Index prefetch.
I am running DB2 UDB 8 on AIX 5.3, and I am using DMS tablespace on

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
