Comparing and Synchronizing Databases, Tables, Stored Procedures accross servers

25 more days until the "get it free" promotion runs out for xSQL
Object (you can get it from http://www.x-sql.com)

Here are just some of the great features packed in the product:
- Compare SQL Server objects (databases, tables, views, stored
procedures, user defined data functions etc.) accross servers.
- view and print dependencies;
- generate color coded scripts for any object in the database or many
of them at once (many configurable options);
- generate scripts for synchronizing databases or certain objects
within the databases.

We would love to here back from you as to how we can make xSQL Object
an even better product.

Please feel free to tell friends and colleagues about it.

Many thanks from the xSQL Team!

I realize that FK cannot be created across databases. The question I have is what are the alternatives? In my thinking I have two choices. 1) First choice (which I read in a different post) is to use a stored procedure as a constraint to go check the table in the other database. 2) Second choice would be to set up publish/subcribe and...

I'm writing a VB6 app which calls several stored procedures on my SQL Server DB. The first stored procedure must complete its inserts before the second stored procedure can query the modified table for its results. My problem is that the second stored procedure occasionally returns a different result set, acting as if the first stored...

I want to know the differences between SQL Server 2000 stored procedures and oracle stored procedures? Do they have different syntax? The concept should be the same that the stored procedures execute in the database server with better performance? Please advise good references for Oracle stored procedures also. thanks!!

Hi, We are in the process of designing an ASP.NET app, where a user will enter some 'Customer ID' to be queried in the database. If the ID is valid, several stored procedures will be called to populate multiple webpages containing customer information. There isn't a one-to-one correlation between the stored procedure and a webpage. In other...

I have a traditional application using a database and procedural code that works fine. I'm re-writing it using the OOP methodology, just to see how this may be the better way to do things. I think I've got a pretty good grasp of the three pillars of OOP, and have objects properly defined using inheritance, encapsulation, etc. as appropriate....

I need to design a system which represents multiple "projects" in SQL Server. Each project has the same data model, but is independent of all others. My inclination is to use one database to store all projects. Looking at the numbers involved, however, I wonder if I would get better performance by storing each project in its own database. ...

Can someone recommend a utility (preferably open-source) to synchronize changes across servers? I need to bring only data over in some cases, and only objects in other cases. Any ideas? Thx!

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...
