Hello,
I am trying to write a VB.NET monitoring application for a MS SQL
server.
For that I need to know the following:
1. How do I count the number of read/write accesses per database on
the server since the creation of the DB?
2. How do I get the last access time of the database ?
Any inputs would be really appreciated.

hi everybody-
i'm having a counting problem i hope you guys and gals could give me
some help with. i have a query that retrieves a bevy of information
from several different tables.
first let me give you a little background. this database is kind of
like a human resources database. it collects info about people, where
they work, and if they have any work-related issues where they work.

Hi,
I've been trying to do line/character counts on documents that are
being uploaded. As well as the "counting" I also have to remove
certain sections from the file.
So, firstly I was working with uploaded MS WORD .doc files. Using code
like that below:

I am trying to enforce a licence for my web application
based on the number of active sessions. Each time a new
user accesses the app, I want to check this to see if
over the limit.
Unfortunately, Can't find a way to check this in
ASP.NET. Looked at performanceCounters but have not had
any success there.
Anyone got any ideas?
