A datetime has to have a value for both the date and the time. You can use
DATEADD to add X minutes onto a date:

SELECT DATEADD(MI,999, '20000101')

Result:

------------------------------------------------------
2000-01-01 16:39:00.000
If you just want the time without the date then you need to convert it to a
CHAR:

SELECT CONVERT(CHAR(8) ,DATEADD(MI,999 ,'20000101'),10 8)

Result:

--------
16:39:00

To follow on, it there a way to convert a date which is stored as an
integer into a normal datetime datatype.

I want to run a crystal report against MSDB to list jobs that have
successfully run (or not). The only item in msdb..sysjobhis tory that
is of use to me is run_date but it is stored 20031107 as an integer.
How do I get it to change to a normal datetime?

Thanks

S

P.S. - Why, in msdb, did they not make that column as a datetime...?

DECLARE @intdate INTEGER
SET @intdate = 20031107

SELECT CAST(CAST(@intd ate AS VARCHAR) AS DATETIME)

I am pulling an integer value of the amount of seconds since 12:00 am from a SQL Server DB. I want to convert this integer into a formated string or datetime to display a legible time of day. Are there any built in methods in the .NET framework that will accomplish this. If not, any other suggestion about creating a method to do this would be appretiated. Thanks

Hello, From a zone-file of a Microsoft Active Directory integrated DNS server I get the date/time of the dynamic update entries in a format, which is as far as I know the hours since january 1st 1901. For Example: the number 3566839 is 27.11.07 7:00. To calculate this in Excel I use this: ="01.01.1901"+(A1/24-(REST(A1;24)/24))+ZEIT(REST(A1;24);0;0) (put 3566839 in field A1 and switch the format of the result-field to the corresponding...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
