SQLServer's *physical* database format is proprietary to Microsoft. Just as
Oracle's is to Oracle.

Or can it be uploaded to a Oracle db? (like access thru odbec)

There are ODBC and OLEDB drivers available for both Oracle and SQLServer, so
yes, data can be shared and imported/exported between them.

Hi everyone, pls forgive me for my lack of knowledge and skills if my question sounds very stupid. I am trying to implement a video conferencing software and I am currently looking at a few set of technologies, among them WMP, RealMedia, H.323 and XviD (not sure if it is suitable for streaming even) . I would like to seek the advice of those experts on the following questions, 1) What is the best technologies to be used, in terms of...

Hi all, I'm new to asp.net and are just working on a few examples to get some practice. The following is a simple webservice with two web methods. The HowMuchWillItCost method works fine the GetProductInfo method returns http 500 internal server error. Maybe someone could tell me what am I doing wrong? I suspect it has something to do with connecting to the DB but can't figure out what exactly is causing the error. TIA Rich

I have an Access 97 app and the ADT and am considering selling it to the public. Is this viable? What issues might I have? I also have Access 2000 and could use that if it would be better. I don't have the "ADT" for 2000. Is it called ODE or ODT? Can you still buy that? Would there be any advantage in moving up to and distributing using

Hey! Some questions about C that have been bugging me for a while... 1) Is inline a valid C keyword or not? I was kind of surprised of not finding it in C, to be honest. My "The C Programming Language" book doesn't mention it. 2) I understand that C doesn't care about whitespace that much, but why did they make it impossible to use the minus ('-') char in variable names? I now have to incorrectly name my "hi-score" variable "hiscore"....

Hello, I write the casual Java code, and to make life easier at work I´ve decided to write a C# application that reads two excel files and does the usual number crunching and spits out a new file. However, I´m not really familiar with C# nor Visual Studio so before buying an expensive programming environment, I´d like some advise.... The computer running the application has Windows XP Professional & Excel 2002. The computer where I...

Hi there, I have a few unanswered questions ! 1Can I create an ActiveX control with .NET ? 2.NET is supposed to provide the COM functionalities. So how can I build a "COM server" in .NET ? I mean: suppose I build a .NET application/product, and I want to give my customers an tool to interop with that tool on the same machine, that is a COM component, but in ..NET. I suppose it would be stupid to use the Web Services or .NET remoting... ?...

Im a student and in preparation for a testIve been given the test questions (or thereabouts, they may be asked in different words or from another perspective). I've been told that they do not require long answer, short punchy bullet points are fine, and I guess to justify your points too. So since I got up this morning in the UK for the last 3hrs Ive done some resarch and come up with a set of notes/answers. Remembering this is an...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
