Move LDF -Has anyone seen this happen?

Hi

We have a SQL 2000 (sp3) server with a database that I set up to have the
MDF on D: and the LDF on E:. All was going along fine for several months and
one day the server rebooted. The SQL log says something like "Service is
shutting down due to server shutdown."

When it came back up the LDF File was on D: (in the same folder as the MDF).
The original LDF was gone from E:

The SQL Log doesn't ever say anything like "Recreating LDF in default
location." or any anything else that would explain what happened.

I assume the change happened during the reboot (actually I didn't notice it
until a week and a half later). I am relatively sure no human did anything
that caused the log file to move.

So has anyone seen this happen before.?

TIA

-Dick

Nope.

I can't think of a way it would happen w/o human intervention.

You can check the ERRORLOG files for sp_detachdb (I think they show up
there).
You should have the last 4 and the current one.

TIA

I'm looking for a way to deny a move from the current listbox item. For instance, if the user is editing the record associated with the current listbox item I want to deny a move within the listbox until they have saved the changes. Is there any way to deny a move from the current item so the SelectedIndexChanged event never fires no matter move the movement was attempted? Whether the user uses the cursor keys or mouse to try and leave...

Hey guys, I have 2 events on a windows forms datagrid, the mouse move as well as the double click events. What's happening is that when I double click on a row in the grid, the mouse move event gets triggered and the double click is not identified at all. Is there any way I can invoke the double click when the mouse move also exists?

I am writing a python program to load a pdf file into an IEHtmlWindow which displays it through adobe acrobat reader 7. Depending on the buttons the user clicks, the program moves it to another subdirectory with a new name. I am using python 2.4 with wxpython 2.6 on a windowsxp machine. I encounter a permission denied error when trying to move the file. It appears to be caused due to the loading of the pdf file into the IEHtmlWindow....

I have a problem with this simple code below. Moving the files works perfectly, but once in a blue moon the file that it is trying to move dissapears before it can move it. and when this happens the "System.IO.Move" goes in to a loop and keeps creating the file on the destination folder with a 0byte size and keeps entering the error in the log i have until someone stop the service. so what i cant figure out is since it catches the...

Hi all I have two problems: Problem #1: I'm using a .NET Form with the property 'FormBorderStyle' set to 'None'. The idea is to completely cover the area of that Form with a UserControl. In order to be able to move that Form around with the mouse I have to implement EventHandlers for the MouseDown, MouseUp and MouseMove event. Now the problem I have is these Events will never be fired because the entire dialog is covered by the...

first: I find the 'r/l-value reference' terminology rather confusing and I find the following names for this new refrence type more suitable: temporary reference: Since it is generally intended to refere to temporary objects Immidiate referenc: Since literals are assumed as temporary in C++ and immidiate or quick in assembly language.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
