I am self study C student. I got stuck in the program below on quadratic equation and will be most grateful if someone could help me to unravel the mystery.
Why does the computer refuse to execute my scanf ("%c",&q);
On input 3 4 1 (for a,b and c) I had real roots OK
On input 1 8 16 I had same real roots OK.
However on 4 2 5, (for imaginary roots ) the computer cannot see the scanf ("%c",&q); statement. It just jumps...

I have an asp.net app (testShow.aspx) with a code behind
file (testShow.aspx.vb) I run on my .NET 2002 dev machine
and it works alright on the localhost, but when I copy the
testShow.aspx and the compiled \bin\ directory to the
production server I get an error message which I don't

Hello all,
I know this has been asked before but I cannot get any solutions to work. I
am ready to reformat this HD and reinstall everything (2-3 day process). I
cannot get my local host to start regardless what I try. I get HTTP 500
Internal Server Error, turned off show friendly messages and it then shows:

I need help in implementing proper error handling.
I am trying to upload a file based on the sample code below. The code works
well except if the file selected is too big.
I do know about the maxRequestLength parameter of the <httpRuntime> section
and that works as expected. What I want is to enforce a max file size but
haven't been able to trap the error thrown when the file is too large and
that's where I could use some help.

just fine. When I compile it on the server using csc.exe, I get the

Hi,
I am using a compare validator in asp.net application(c# code). This Custom
validator is used for comparing a value enterd by the user against the
primary key in the SQL database. IF the VALUE ENTERED BY THE USER EXISTS IN
THE DB , then THE ERROR MESSAGE OF THE COMPARE VALIDATOR SHOULD BE DISPLAYED.

My desk has been beaten to a pulp by my forehead over this.
In my page's codebehind, IntelliSense recognizes the Methods in my homegrown
Class. That tells me the Imports directive is finding the Class in the
specified Namespace and that the Methods and Class are Public. The Methods
are actually Public Shared.
* If I do a simple Build =Build Page it succeeds.
* If I do a Build =Rebuild Web Site (or Build =Build Web Site) every one
