Hello.
I've searched all over and haven't seen another thread with this
problem. Please bear with me as I try to explain. thanks. :)
I have some programs that need to be cross-platform compatible (unix
and windowsXP). The first program parses a text file and records where
snippets are in terms of where it begins (char offset from begin of
the file) and length (number of chars).
One can almost use "byte" and "char" interchangeably...

I have a multithreaded windows NT service application (vb.net 2003) that I
am working on (my first one), which reads a message queue and creates
multiple threads to perform the processing for long running reports. When
the processing is complete it uses crystal reports to load a template file,
populate it, and then export it to a PDF.
It works fine so far....

Hi,
I'm pretty new to Visual Basic and was wondering if anyone could give
some general advise on how to conserve memory when running a Visual
Basic program that I've created. I keep getting a "Win32 exception was
