I recently downloaded and installed (hopefully correctly) MSDE 2000 Release
A. I previously, and still do, have the version of IIS that comes with XP
Professional installed on my computer. I wanted MSDE 2000 Release A so that
I could do database access using ASP from my websites, which are on my
computer. When I went to my first test website, I recieved the following
error:

Hi,
I am writing an application that uses MSDE to store data.
Both application & MSDE run on the same computer.
I want to regulate the operations done on the DB by the user. For
example, I don't want to allow "standard" users to delete records,
update certain fields, etc...
I can regulate these rules within my program, but what if the user runs
MSDE query for example on the DB and fetches the list of users &
passwords from the DB ?

running and I am able to start the SQL server. I get a dialog box message
about unknown procedure or something like that. I am running a stand alone
PC with a DSL connection. I am trying to run the server...

Hi folks,
I cannot seem to get my .NET app to successfully login to my Sql Server MSDE
instance. It always tells me that the login for ASPNET failed. My biggest
problem is that I cannot find any tools to let me administer the MSDE
database. How do you guys all do it? Why didn't the MSDE installation take
care of this?
I should tell you that I am running my MSDE instance under the Local
Account, which is Paul, a member of the...

I have Visual Studio .NET and SQL Server Desktop Engine on my computer. I
have created an empty database using Visual Studio .NET's Server Explorer.
However, I am having trouble connecting to the database using ASP.NET. I
think the problem is somewhere in my connection string, but because I do not
know much about connection strings, I am not sure what it should look like.
Can someone please help me determine what my connection string should...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
