Hello all.
I've recently transferred our web sites from a Windows2000 server to a
Windows2003 server. The transfer went almost flawless until I noticed that
our search function isn't working anymore. I'm using an ASP script to use
the Indexing Services and have set up my catalogs and directories but I'm
getting a 'type mismatch' on one of my Server.URLEncode commands.
Do I need to obtain a new script to utilize the Indexing Services of...

Hi,
I have indexing servicing working fine on my test server for a search engine
in C# ASP.NET, but when I tried to make one on our live server, its not
working correctly. The index only returns results for pages in the root so
far. It seems like the indexing doesn't want to finish. It is listed as
Paused(User Active) or whatever it says. I tried to do a manual "Rescan
(Full)" but it doesn't kick in. It just stays paused. The server is...

The Python slice type has one method 'indices', and reportedly:
This method takes a single integer argument /length/ and
computes information about the extended slice that the slice
object would describe if applied to a sequence of length
items. It returns a tuple of three integers; respectively
these are the /start/ and /stop/ indices and the /step/ or
stride length of the slice. Missing or out-of-bounds indices
are handled in a manner...

Hi -
Trying to chase down a baffling performance issue. Our database has been
running very slow lately. So we are performance tuning the database. In
doing so, we created a copy of our production database. In that database, I
changed one clustered index on a table to try to improve performance. I ran
one query - saw a slight improvement - but saw "lazy spool" in the execution
plan.
I tried to change it back to the original index by...

I have a bit of a problem with regards an indexing strategy. Well,
basically there is no indexing strategy on a set of data I have at
work. Now, I didn't create the design as I would have allowed for this.
OK, so there is primary key (clustered) indexes (mainly composite
keys), but no other indexes on the tables. As you would expect, the
performance leaves a lot to be desired. A hell of a lot. We have
several million rows in a lot of the...

Here's the rest of the tutorial I started earlier:
Aside from text within a document, Indexing Service let you search on
meta information stored in the files. For example, MusicArtist and
MusicAlbum let you find MP3 and other music files based on the singer
and album name; DocAuthor let you find Office documents created by a
certain user; DocAppName let you find files of a particular program,
and so on.
Indexing Service uses plug-ins...

Hello to everyone out there. I am a non SQL person TRAPPED in a nightmare!
The long short is we have a CRM 3.0 database that is running in SQL 2005 on a Windows 2003 SP1 Server. (HP ProLiant ML350 3.0ghz 3.5gb RAM)
Server started running out of drive space and could not hold transaction log. Would basically lock up everyones sessions until flushed. Put a cap on log size until drives could be purchased and installed. Perfomance suffered...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
