I run a book exchange web site based in PHP with a mysql database.
Many users have having trouble logging in.
Here is a description of the problem.
A user types in his/her username and password and hits login. The
browser thinks for a bit then the login screen comes up again and
nothing has happened (except now the username and password fields are
blank).

I'm an Access user, and I'm trying to learn MySQL and then PHP so I can make
some web databases. But it just isn't clicking.
I've followed some tutorials, and picked up a book, but just getting to
square one has been a pain. I can follow the tutorials and get to the point
where I can make tables and stuff, but I don't know how I got there, or what
to do if something changes that makes it different than the tutorial.

I'm preparing to enter a discussion with management at my company
regarding going forward as either a MySql shop or a Postgresql shop.
It's my opinion that we should be using PG, because of the full ACID
support, and the license involved. A consultant my company hired before
bringing me in is pushing hard for MySql, citing speed and community...

Hi,
In my PC, eth0 is not up because of IP address clash (another PC is
using the same IP address). I tried to execute a file which has set
of insert commands. After executing the file, when I go and see the
database, no rows are inserted. I redirected the output to another
file. It shows success for all inserts, but no rows in database. This
is happening only when the PC has IP clash, that too not all times. I
wasn't able to trace out...

I use session_start(). When I open my web-based application in two windows
on the same system, there's a definite clash; I can't do two independent
sessions because the session variables are shared. I solved that
the easy way, by not opening two windows. But then I went on to write
more applications, and found that if I use the same variable names
(for session variables)...

2. Does anyone run CGI and display all SESSION errors on Vista /IIS7?
php ASAPI doesn't works with MYSQL.
And CGI doesn't show any SESSION error message.
PHP had so much bugs on windows vista.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
