Hi all, I need to generate a word document and save it on the server from an ASP.Net application. Basically I want to load a word template and insert some field values from a dataset and save the final output as a Word document. I know there are different options to do this. But I can't decide which one I should use. I don't want to use automation on the server because of scalability issues and it is not recommended by Microsoft. So I am...

Hi, I need to know how I could populate a word file from within ASP.NET and stream it out to some user (I can rely on all users have at least Word XP installed). The preferable solution would be to have a word template on the server which is populated in the asp.net application and then streamed out to the user. Also acceptable would be to open a template on the client's computer using automation and fill this file (if this is possible)....

Hello, I want to create a Word XML file based on the input users make in a VB.NET application. I imagine creating a template in Word and saving it as a XML file. I then want to fill the template (in my application) based on the user input. When the document gets opened there should be fields users can change but others should be prevented from beeing changed (I know that an "open" file format like XML can always be modified to allow...

Hi, I am working with a template document that has previously been created. I want to be able to populate the fields on the Userform on opening the Word template but before the form is shown. I also want to loop through all the controls on the form and get the control name. I have successfully opened the existing template and disabled autonew(). then activated Form1. However, that where I hit a brick wall. I want to avoid coding in...

We have an access DB that 2 input people use to tracking incoming patients. There is a form for them to do this but they find it confusing to use (it's plainly laid out, no one else complains about it). Management has decided that they want me to link 15 of our templates so when a template is opened and text entered into one of the text fields it will automatically be entered into the database. First of all, is this possible? ...

I am updating a VB4.0 quote generation program to VB.net. The old program takes user inputs, performs calculations, saves the data to Access databases and uses Crystal Reports 5.0 to generate a quote. A while back users obviously wanted to be able to edit/e-mail the quote (these ancient Cyrstal 5.0 reports don't allow PDF creation) so I modified the old VB4.0 code to allow users to save the Crystal Report as Word document which they can...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
