Hello,
I have a large database table running on SQL Server 8.0. It currently has nearly 98 million records on it's ways to 125 million. I am doing inserts as quickly as the server can handle it, but after a while the server simply refuses to process the insert statements. According to SQL Management Studio, the insert statements are being loaded and marked as runnable, but they are never added to the database. SQL Server doesn't stop working during this time; I am still able to issue queries as usual, but the inserts are not being processed from the script. The command timeout is 30 seconds, so once it starts failing it waits 30 seconds before trying another insert, but it will consistently fail for days at a time.
Does anybody know what causes this? Does SQL Server have some kind of restriction so that it block a certain connection after so many queries have been issued?
By the way, I'm doing 10,320,000 inserts from the same SQL connection from within VB.NET

Hi everybody !
I´m maintaining a large intranet (approx 10000 concurrent users) running on
one IIS box and one DB box with sqlserver 2000.
Currently there is 2,5 GB Ram, 1 1400 mhz cpu and 2 scsi disks installed on
the db box.
Sqlserver is set to use max 1,4 GB RAM, and the sqlserver does not seem to
be using it all.

I've got a call to glob in a .py file sitting in an apache cgi-bin directory
which refuses to work while the exact same code works from a python console
session.
I'm guessing that in order to read or write files from any sort of a script
file sitting in the cgi-bin directory on a server, something has to be set
to allow such activity. I'd appreciate it if anybody with as clue as to
what that was could tell me about it.

I joined a company recently and they have a java program which hangs
(does nothing) after a while. This is no way consistent. It could
succeed quite a few times and can fail a few other times. There is no
consistency when it fails.
Could anyone here shed some light on how to debug/resolve the issue. I
guess IBM looked at the issue and were not able to pinpoint where the

Hello,
On my LAMP webserver, I noticed that sometimes the MySQL daemon uses
99.99% of the CPU, and does not answer SQL queries, while several
minutes.
Does someone know what could be the causes ?
I searched on MySQL.com forums, and I found answers about query cache,
