Hi ! when installing sqlserver 2000 on a Windows 2003 server it explicitly tells "server not compatible with Windows 2003" during install, but it can carry on. After we applied serfice pack 3a then the db server seems to run normally, but does it risk to behave randomly afterwards ??? Is sqlserver 2000 standard edition compatible with Windows 2003 server ? Or does it exist a specific sqlserver edition for Win2003 ?

Environment: VS2005, ASP.Net 2.0, SQLServer 2000, VB.Net, IIS6 I use a GridView Control which is based on a SQLDataSource. The datasource is based on a Select statement and is filtered by the FilterExpression. The GridView also has a pager element (below, displaying first, previous, next, last icons), paging is enabled, page contains 10 rows. The user now skips some pages by clicking a view times on the next icon. Now he changes the...

Can I use SQLServer 2000 with ASP.NET 2.0 instead of SQLServer 2005, and use the .Net 2.0 Membership functionality? I've setup my Login page, controls, etc., and now it's time to use the Web Site Administration Tool (WAT) but it won't sense my SQLServer 2000 database.

This approach I found very efficient and FAST when compared to the rowcount, or Subquery Approaches. This is before the advent of a ranking function from DB such as ROW_NUMBER() in SQL Server 2005 and the likes of it. So This one works with SQL2000 What do you think?

Hi, I have read many different datalist paging solutions, including using the ROW_NUMBER() with Sql Server 2005. I have googled various methods to use with lower versions of Sql Server. I wanted to know if I am not using sql server 2005, is it still appropriate to use the paging that is designed for asp.net 1.x and sql server 2000 as it relates to the DataList? Am I correct there is no difference in asp.net 1.x and 2.0 in datalist...

I have some old ASP programs w/ SQLserver 2000 databases. Now I am developing ASP.NET projects using VB 2005 and SQLserver 2005. What are the best procedures to develop and test the ASP.NET programs? My main concerns are: 1. What do I need to test? VB 2005/ASP.NET with 2000 data? Migration of 2000 data to SQLserver 2005? VB 2005/ASP.NET with 2005 data? 2. How to minimize the transition time? What is the critical change for the...

Hi all I need to implmenet paging across different tables. The tables all have a different name eg Data01, data02 data03 etc, however they are columns which are common to each table, but each table also has some unique columns My questions is that I want to display data from any one of these tables - I wont know which one until runtime, but since they contains large amounts of data, I only want to display say 10 at a time. Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
