Kerberos setup on windows 64-bit SQL Server 2005

Anyone has experience setting up kerberos authentication on SQL Server
2005 on Windows 64 bit? It is working for me on windows 32-bit. I
didn't need to do anything, but to make sure the sever and client are
on the same domain. For the same setup on 64-bit server, it doesn't
use kerberos authentication, but just windows authentication. If you
have any luck setting this up on windows 64 bit, could you please
share some note. Thank you very much

Louis

I have a problem with Windows integrated authentication and Kerberos. I use the object COM ServerXMLHTTP of MSXML3. On the Open method which requires the login password of the user, I use NULL and NULL so that the integrated authentication of Windows should be used. My application goes perfectly if I give the login and the password but I cannot know the password of the user during the production: - ( . The network sniffer traces...

Hi, I'm having intermittent problems connecting to my PostgreSQL database from PHP, using Kerberos credentials forwarded from mod_auth_kerb. - User authenticates via mod_auth_kerb, (either Basic or Negotiate HTTP authenication) - Kerberos credentials are stored in a file that lives for the lifetime of the HTTP connection.

We have both Windows and Linux webservers in our organization. I know that WSE 3.0 allows you to secure a web service with Kerberos such that an authenticated NT user can be recognized by the webservice without being challenged for credentials. Is there a way for a Linux client to be authenticated by the same webservice? Thanks, Jonathan

I have posted about this problem before. SInce then I found a much better article to help with embedding python in a multithreaded application: http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/3641 I found this article very good and it clarified for me what needs doing. Now I have an example application that almost works, but it is far from reliable. If I run this several times I get crashes telling me that the heap is modified after deallocation....

I have a client that wants his new asp.net app to be authenticated using Kerberos instead of forms authentication. I used Kerberos years ago for logon security for users to long on to NT. However I am at a loss to understand how it would work for asp.net authentication. Can someone help me here? Thanks, T

Hello, We have an ASP.NET application that needs to connect to a Netweaver (SAP) application (which runs on Windows). Users first log into ASP.NET application (NTLM) and we need to be able to give them access to the Netweaver application which runs on a different machine and uses a different authentication protocol (KERBEROS). Is there anyway we can turn the NTLM authentication into KERBEROS through code, ie, C# so we can provide the user...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
