Users with permission to MSSQL 2005 objects

16 New Member
Hi Guys,

Anyone knows how to script all the users with permission and access level to an object in MSSQL 2005?

In MSSQL 2000 you can use the scripting in EM just go to the option "script secuirity option" when you script the object that you want but in MSSQL 2005 I cant find it.

Thanks in advance.

Andy, I am new to SQL. It was hard just to figure out how to install it. I know I am logged in as a Admin. in Windows. I have the little server box with the round circle on it in the bottom right corner(toolbar). The SQL Server Service Manager. I tried to search for the sp_helpsrvrolemember command on my drive. It's

I'd like to know how to get a users various table privilages from a sql server (insert/delete/update), so that i can set controls to behave accordingly (read only, hidden, disable "insert" button, etc). I'm sure it can't be too difficult, but I've been having a hard time finding any revelant information when doing searches. I know sql can just throw back an exception to let the user know, but my goal is to make custom controls that get...

I have a few general questions. I am working on a new database to be used within my company. I would like to give a couple of people, particularly HR, the ability to add and delete Access users, and add/remove them to groups, so as people join and leave the company, they can be added/removed as database users at that time. However, I don't want them to have to do it through the standard Access users/groups interface, and I don't want...

When I click on the properties of a 2005 sql server database and then permissions. If I select a group and then effective permission, I got an error, saying that "cannot execute as the principal server because the 'xxx \group' does not exist, this type of principal cannot be impersonated, or you do not have permission (Microsoft SQL Server; Error: 15406)" I guess the error is valid, since the group does not exist in the database as a...

In SQL 2005 (we use Enterprise 64-bit SP2), the users cannot see the text of the stored procedures, functions, etc. This is a production database, so I cannot give them rights to modify them, but they need to be able to see what the procs are doing. I didn't have this problem in 2000 - how can I adjust the privileges to allow them to view the contents of the Programmability objects? thanks for any insight!!

I am trying to program a database from inside C++.NET via Visual Studio 2005 using the ADO.NET set of classes, but this I believe is a SQL Server 2005 Express permissions question under Windows XP Professional OS. In another thread, http://tinyurl.com/373lzx, I was able to open a database successfully using VS2005 (thanks to a suggestion by Erland Sommarskog). But subsequent to this I played around with the local policy permissons...

Hello, in order to perform backup/restore MSSQL database using SMO, one needs to reference several namespaces in a backup class : using Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Common; using Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo; Unfortunately, MSSQL 2005 and MSSQL Express keep them in different place. For MSSQL2005 they are located in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server \90\SDK\Assemblies and for MSSQL Express you can find them in C:

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
