Hi, I need to print a message when the number of rows returned from repeating groups is > 3. How is this best done? I have two repeating groups filtered to display only 3 rows. When either one returns more than 3 rows, I need my text message to print. Both repeating groups are using the same table. Different data is being displayed. I'm using reports 6i.

I have a table which is returning inconsistent results when I query it! In query analyzer: If I do "SELECT * FROM TABLE_NAME" I get no rows returned. If I do "SELECT COL1, COL2 FROM TABLE_NAME" I get 4 rows returned. In Enterprise manager:

Is there a way to get random rows besides ORDER BY random()? The problem with ORDER BY random() is that is has to get all the rows from the table before the results are returned. ---------------------------(end of broadcast)--------------------------- TIP 9: the planner will ignore your desire to choose an index scan if your joining column's datatypes do not match

I'm implementing paging through search results using cursors. Is there a better way to know total number of rows under a cursor than running a separate COUNT(*) query? I think PostgreSQL is bound to know this number after the first FETCH, isn't it? On a side note, why queries using LIMIT are SO terribly slow, compared to cursors and sometimes even ones without LIMIT? Shouldn't LIMIT be internally implemented using cursor mechanism then?...

I'm delving into using ADO.NET for the first time. In fact, I've never done any database work using C# at all so all of this is new to me. Please bear that in mind if I am asking stupid questions. In reading the documentation for the "Update()" method of the SqlDataAdapter class, I see that it "Calls the respective INSERT, UPDATE, or DELETE statements for each inserted, updated or deleted rows in the specified array of DataRow objects"....

Hi I would like to write a SQL select statement that would fetch rows numbered 50 to 100. Let me clarify, if i say "fetch first 10 rows only", it returns the first 10 rows from the resultset. how do I get a specific subset of rows from the result set if I give a start and end value. For example, retreiving rows 50 to 100 from the resultset.

I have looked through Python Database API Specification v2.0, but can not find any reference to the number of records processed in a select query. I know I can get the number of records returned with cursor.rowcount, but I want to know the number of records processed. I suppose the info is in one of the internal tables, but I can not find any info on that, because phpMyAdmin shows the number of rows in a table.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
