Hi guys, could you please provide me with the best solution to backup my MSSQL Server running on Windows 2003 Small Business Server.

I am currently using software that runs on four client computers and saves data in the Win2k3 SBS.

Where should I start and what is the safest way to back it up.

This is on a Dell Poweredge 1400 Server and will be moved to the new Dell Poweredge 2800 Server once it arrives - operating will be the Same Win2k3 SBS but the edition will be R2 both systems are 32bit

Thanks for your help in advance

I am having a problem backing up my database and TLog files due to a lack of local diskspace. The db file is about 30GB and the TLog is about 20GB each on a different hard disk. Each disk doesn't have enough available space to accomadate a backup. I also can't shrink the files because part of that procedure would require a backup. Question: Can I use a redirected drive for the backup media? Is there a way to trick SQL into allowing...

I need to migrate an Excel app I developed ten years ago, that has evolved into something with a life of it's own. But I know little to nothing about database platforms and development. The Excel file stores info in 60 cells on each line of the spreadsheet, a new line for every sample that is received. This spreadsheet grows to 10,000 lines in a couple months and I have to archive and purge it back down to a more stable size. The...

I built a PHP website on Windows 2000 (using IIS) that connects to a SQL Server 2000 database using the mssql functions. I migrated the website and the database onto a Windows 2003 machine, and now the mssql functions are significantly slower. On the Windows 2000 machine, the mssql_connect takes .03 seconds to run, and the odbc_connect takes the same amount of time. On Windows 2003, the mssql_connect takes a full second to run, but...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
