For the last couple of months I have been trying to get the next round
of updates to the FAQ underway and been being thwarted by a heavy
workload (the project I am working on has to be finished an QA tested
for a new year release. I don't think that going to prove practical, but
there is no harm in trying :) and some serious family commitments. But
it has to be done soon so this is stage one.
Mike Winter provided an extensive list of...

Problem #1:
I have a form, which says, has 2 fields: F1 & F2 (both Dates). I want
to be able to change F1 and F2 will change to be the same as F1 in the
codes. However, I will still be able to change F2 at anytime if needed
and changes in F2 will not affect F1.
Problem #2:

I have a form with a child form. In the child form there is a list of
names that can grow quite large. On the parent form I want to display
the first name from the child form. I set up a test box that is
populated with the code
=subfrm_media_review_sec_party.Form!first_name & " " &
subfrm_media_review_sec_party.Form!last_name
It works except that when I flip through the names it populates the
parent form with the name of what ever...

I have a form set to Single Form mode with which I can cycle through the
records in a table via Next and Previous buttons. To avoid users pressing
the Previous button on the first record and the Next button on the last
record, I would like to disable one or both buttons when the first and/or
last record is displayed. I am not sure how to do this when the
RecordSource is simply the table.
I know that if the record source were a...

I have and email button on one of my forms but I want to use that code
on a few more forms but don't want to copy the code on each form
because any changes I make to the code will need to be updated on each.
I was thinking I could use a Public Module so I can call it from
anywhere but I get the following error: External Name not defined.
It looks like it is not finding the Participant First Name from my
form. Here is my code. How can I...

I'm keen on learning python, with a heavy lean on doing things the
"pythonic" way, so threw the following script together in a few hours
as a first-attempt in programming python.
I'd like the community's thoughts/comments on what I've done;
improvements I can make, "don'ts" I should be avoiding, etc. I'm not
so much bothered about the resulting data - for the moment it meets my
needs. But any comment is welcome!

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
