Dear com.text.xml XML community: It's hard to imagine a major company that doesn't have at least some systems running SQL Server, or using Microsoft XML technologies for that matter. Because of this, we're especially pleased to bring you Stylus Studio Senior Product Architect Ivan Pedruzzi's interview with Dr. Michael Rys, the Program Manager for the Microsoft SQL Server Engine Team. I have an installation of SQL Server 2000. Both MBSA and @@version show this to be the gold release. When I install Service Pack 3a, it shows no error. But after restart of the server, it's still unpatched, by both MBSA and @@version. Any idea what may be going on here?

This may be off topic and if it is I am sorry. I just installed MD Office 2003 and left Access XP (2002?) on the computer. If I try to open a database with the new Access I get an error that "Microsoft Jet 4.0 Service Pack 8 or later" must be on the machine. Microsoft Update doesn't show it as a need download and the highest Service Pack I can find is 7. I would think that the CD would have installed everything needed to run the...

Hi! I work in a web site project which uses ASP.net and Microsoft SQL Server 2005. I use XML and XSL for my pages. My problem is: o As the data in the database contain some characters that are not allowed by XML structure, I used CDATA for all my fields in order to store them in the XML file like that : vignettes_xml = vignettes_xml + "<transcription_texte><!]></transcription_texte>"

Hi, I have some very simple code that I have been using for quite a while that uses a streamwriter to write to a network file. I have never had any problems with it. I recently updated Visual Studio 2005 with Service Pack 1 and now it gives me the "Directory not found " exception when I try to write to a network location. I am running it on Vista as a standard user. However, I have opened Visual Studio using the "run as...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
