I have an Access 2000 MDB with ODBC linked tables to a SQL Server 7 back
end. I currently have a selections table in the front end file which the
users use to make selections of records. The table has two fields -- primary
key (which matches primary key of main, SQL Server table), and a boolean
field. The table is linked to the main table in a heterogeneous inner join.
I'm looking to move the table to the back end, while still giving each...

Hello
I'm using A97 and i'm having some trouble with creating a recordset
with data from two different databases.
I connect to a remote database and make this data the default source
for my continuous form (Set me.recordset = rs). The problem is: one of
the fields of the remote database is a foreign key (two digit number),
and the table with the correspondence is in my local database... i
have no way of altering the remote database....

Hi everyone,
I like to export some data from the database and allow my users to store
this file to their harddrive as a .txt file. Does anyone know how I would
go about doing that? (without creating the actual physical text file on my
local drive first).
Thank you
Maziar A.

Hello all.
here is a little conundrum for you to get your teeth into.
I am creating a csv file from an access database. The code I use is below and it works well .. except for one small annoying feature. When it creates the csv file the first letter of the name of the first field is missing. The database field name is Start of Record - and in the csv file it becomes Tart of Record.
I can overcome this by renaming the database field SStart...

Hi,
I've been using Access 2000 for a while but this is my first time
trying to connect an Access Front End to a SQL Server back-end. I've
created a few tables in SQL Server (2005 Standard) in a database file
I call CustInfo.mdf. I go into into MS Access and create the ODBC
connection to this file. When I click on the new ODBC connection I
see a load of tables I can link to, but they are all from the SQL
Master Database (tables and...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
