Hello All
i'm newbie here, was googling and found this site, it looks nice and i think i can learn a lot here,
i have ms sql 2000 with 40 database and static public ip address. i am accessing my server remotly, it started before few weeks, whenever i create any database and login for the database that user can see all other database in server but cant make any changes, it mean it has read rights. i try to do all the things but cant find solution,
here is the things im doing to create new database and login for it.
right click on database -> database name, proper path for data file and log
in logins -> new logins -> new login name, selected sql server authentication and given password for login
in server roles i havent selected anything.
in database access -> i have selected one database and given db_owner rights
but after selecting only one database for new user, still it can see entier database list and admin control panel. how come this possible, any clue ??

Hi,
Quick question, I have about 20 users in my local server and database. We
are looking to restore that database to a new server in a new network and
still be able to retain the database users.
We have created all 20 logins in the new server (exact names) but when we
restore the database I do not see the users anymore!
Is there something we can do to preserve them or a script we can run to link

Hi.
In the ldb file you can see the users of the mdb-file. If you open the
mdb-file your machine and username will be written in the lbd- file.
Allthough you close the mdb-file your name won't disappear from the
ldb-file, before every user has closed the mdb-file.
I have heard that there will be problems if the amount of users will
be over 10 in mdb-files. Is that true?

Long: I seem to be having the problem discussed in previous postings
of having more than 9 or 10 concurrent logins. If I can limit the
number of concurrent logins to 8 or 9, that would satisfy our needs.

Since an ASP.NET/ADO.NET website is run on the server by a single "asp_net
worker process", therefore doesn't that mean that even 50 simultaneous human
users of the website would appear to the database backend as a single user.
Therefore, wouldn't switching our Access (actually Jet 4.0 OLEDB) database
backend on our ASP.NET/ADO.NET website to an MSDE backend be an advantageous
