If I have DB2 8.1 (FP5, I believe, but not relevant to my question...I hope)
installed on my desktop, do I have what I need to connect to a remote DB2
server (also running 8.1 FP5) from my desktop machine? I assume, perhaps
naively, that all the parts are there but I've spent several hours trying to

I've set up small web apps on a few of my clients' servers using
Frontpage and ASP and Access. I have them running IIS 5.
I want to begin using ASP.NET and convert the current apps and create
new ones.
In my home office, I've created some test apps on my home server, and
I can add local servers and data connections using the server explorer
in VB.NET 2003.

Because this worker process using the local ASPNET userid, it is unable to
access Sql Server databases on a remote server. I believe the solution is to
use a domain id and apply it to both... but am not sure how to do this with
wp_aspnet.exe.
Anyone have a solution for this.

Hi -
I have an ASP.NET web page accessing a SQL database. It works fine on the
web, and I'm trying to get it to also work in debug mode in the IDE. The
"on the web" page and my SQL database are hosted by a third party (on
separate servers).
Since debug mode opens IE and loads my page from localhost, since the
database is located at a web URL, and since my development machine has an
always-on DSL connection, I'm hoping there's a way...

Hi there!
I have a web application that invokes an exe. The exe runs as a separate
process. After it is invoked it doesnt interact with the web application
again. The exe has a problem connecting to a remote database. It says 'access
is denied'.
But the same exe when executed independent of the web app providing command
line arguments, it is able to access the remote databases and give the
result.

I created a website in Visual studio 2005.
I did a build and I can browse it on my local box.
http://localhost/gpweb/gpkey.aspx
When I try to access it on a remote box, it doesn't work.
http://<myservername>/gpweb/gpkey.aspx
I get the "Page cannot be displayed" error.

I am getting a 404 error when trying to access an ASP page from a
remote machine (via Internet Explorer). However, the asp page is
processed successfully when accessing this page from the local machine.
I checked permissions from IIS administration and from explorer and
nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Other ASP pages work from other
virtual directories, but for some reason this one does not.
Any suggestions out there? Thank you...

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
