I've got a slight problem... and I'm stuck as to where to go with it...
I'm running on Redhat7.2, using Python 2.2.2
I've got a compiled module that I wrote almost a year ago - it works fine, and I've never had any problems with it...
I also did an extension to a plugin (Shake) using Python, so the plugin loads a python module and calls various functions in there....
all in all, fine - I thought I had my head around the system, and...

I want to write an application that embeds and extends (at least) the
Python and Perl interpreters. Now i want to find as much as possible
about the Python tools used for extending and embedding Python.
To be more specific: My app should:
1. Parse an input file.
2. Call a script in some scripting language, to generate an output file,
for example in C++.
For task 2 I need to call an embedded interpreter, and also provide call
backs from...

I'm trying to use a datagrid for data entry. I've created a couple of combo
box columns using information from
http://64.78.52.104/FAQ/WinForms/FAQ_c44c.asp#q480q
That example basically sets every combobox in a given column (for every row)
to the same datasource.
One obstacle I have to overcome is when a user changes a value in one
column, the next combobox in the next column on the same row needs to bind to
a new set of data, and...

I have a rather large C++ project which has his own build system
(scons) and I would prefer to stay inside scons in order to build some
python extensions/embeddings (that is, I prefer to avoid using
distutils directly to build my extensions).
Can someone confirm that I'm doing the right thing to pick up the
necessary dependencies to pick up the compilation flags (the first
output line below, once I prefix it with '-I'), location of...

Hi all,
tough question. Apologies for the cross posting but it is an interesting
architectural problem and I think deserves a wide audience.
What is the best way to extend web service proxy classes so we can add
our own methods and properties?
We have an application that passes a deep hierarchical structure (four
nodes deep) between a webservice and a smart client.
We have built the web service using the Contract First Web Service...

I'm writing a custom MembershipProvider which uses a custom class derived from MembershipUser (basically, the derived class adds a
field to the MembershipUser base class).
When I try to configure my website using the ASP.NET Configuration tool, and go to the Security page, I get the following error:
Could not load type 'OMLMembershipUser' from assembly 'App_Code.olsckwwk, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'.

Is there anything builtin to ASP.net that allows you to tie a text box to a
button so when you press enter in the text box it emulates clicking a near
by button.
I've coded up some client side javascript that does this, but it fails when
their is a validator monitoring the text box (in firefox, but that's 10% of
my visitors).

Hello everyone.
I own two books. Learning Python and Python in a nutshell. When cross
referencing the two books to try and clarify the ideas behind extending
methods and delegates, this is where confusion veered it's ugly head :(
Learning Python explains on page 324: Class Interface Techniques
(21.3.3 in the ebook) the following is an extender method.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
