Hi all, I'm working on the schema for a database that must represent data about stock & bond funds over time. My connundrum is that, for any of several dimension fields, including the fund name itself, the dimension may be represented in different ways over time, and may split or combine from one period to the next. When querying from the database for an arbitrary time period, I need the data to be rolled up to the smallest extent...

I am working a new application...well actually a series of applications for my company. They want internal users to be able to go to a site and everything regarding security is transparent, however we will have brokers and customers that also need to connect and will require a username and password. In this case we were going to store their credentials in a SQL database. Internal users will have the ability to access the same resources...

We have set up an Access database with tables x,y, & z where we would like to have multiple people entering data into a table x. Each person has an identical copy of the database on their PC's. When the person is done entering the data into table x, we want them to e-mail their database to one person who will combine the data from table x into a single database. What's the easiest method to combine the tables into a single table? ...

I have several Access databases, identical in structure, but different data. Is there an easy way to combine them all into one database? There are six tables, I just want the data from all databases merged into one database. Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone, I have a database where I collect shipment data from various tables. However, I have a problem. Whenever I want to see shipping data for orders that were set to ship on or before a certain date (in this case January 30th) the database will return 2 rows for an order as you can see below. Order ID: Line: Due Date: Qty: Ship Qty: Part #: Shipped: 141285 1 1/30/2006 31 10 S15F-55

Hi, I'm new to access and am very wary of dates as I have limited experience in their manipulation and I know if they're not done properly things can turn ugly quickly. I would like to use a calendar control to allow my users to enter a date but I need them to enter a time as well. It doesn't look like the calendar control will allow times to be entered so I was thinking of having two text boxes. One text box would contain the date...

Hello, I am working with a database that is in use in several locations. The structure of the databases are identical, but the data is different. I am tasked with combining the data into one large database. (It is SQL 2000) I have .bak files for each location. Is there any way to restore a backup into a database, combining the data?

I have query1 where I set a date range. Query2 is a crosstab query and is based on query1. I don't want the queries to be saved in the mdb but I do want them to be run in VBA using a querystring. If I only put query2 in the querystring it refers to query1 which is not available in the database. How can I combine the 2 queries into one querystring? Thank you, John

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
