Here's a really weird one for any SQL Server gurus out there...
We have observed (SQL Server 2000) scenarios where a stored procedure
which
(a) begins a transaction
(b) inserts some rows into a table
(c) re-queries another table using a subquery which references the
inserted table (correlated or not)

I've been developing a stored procedure that uses a user defined
function in the query portion of the procedure. However, since the end
product needs to allow for dynamic table names, the UDF will not work.
I've been trying to get this to work with converting the UDF to a
procedure, but I'm having no luck.
Here is the background on what I'm trying to accomplish. I need to
perform a sub-identity on a table, I have the normal identity set,...

I've got to let end users (really just one person) load billing batch
files into a third party app table. They need to specify the billing
cycle name, the batch name, and the input file name and then I can use
these values to execute a SQL Server stored procedure to load them
into the batch table from the input file (the stored procedure uses
Dynamic SQL to Bulk Insert the file to a temp table then processes it
into the final table.)

Hi all
We currently have a strange problem with calling a Stored Procedure
(SQL Database) in our C# Project. The only error I get is "System
error" which says a lot :)
Background:
We have several stored procedures to Insert and update datas in our
SQL database. Some stored procedures are smaller (insert datas in only
one table) and some of them are quite big (insert datas in several

Hi All,
I'm having trouble moving from a query that calls a MySQL 5 stored
procedure to a query that calls a simple SQL INSERT. Here's the
relevant part of the code that calls the stored procedure:
$query = sprintf( "CALL AddSearchTerm('%s', %d)",
$massaged_search_term, count($_SERVER) );
$result = mysqli_query($link, $query);
if($result)

Using Visual Basic .NET and SQL Server 2005
I attempt to add a query that is a call to a stored procedure in the
DataSet Designer.
The TableAdapter Query Configuration wizard finds my stored procedure
fine but generates
the following error when I attempt to add the query
Invalid object name '#temp'.

Hi,
I have a stored procedure that I want to execute and then wait in a loop
showing a timer whilst it completes and then carry on once I get
notification that it has completed. The main reason for this being to stop
the user thinking the application has frozen when in fact it is just waiting
for a long SP to complete. Another reason for doing it like this is that I
also have had a problem in the past where the SP takes longer than the...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
