I posted this to microsoft.public.sqlserver.programming, but no one
could answer my question. So I think it is a good place to re-post my
question here.
My question:
I found that if you do not include any effective SQL statement between
BEGIN/END block, SQL Server 2000 Query Analyzer will think it is an
error:

I apologize if this has been asked before- I searched google but could
not find a concrete answer.
I recently inherited a database whose t-sql code is written in a format
that I find difficult to read (versus the format I have used for
years).
I have tested the queries below using the SQL Profiler, and both have
identical costs. Is there any advantage of one format over the other?

I apologize in advance to forum readers noticing this somewhat
redundant post. I fear that my Subject Heading was ill-chosen in
earlier post I made on this topic. Am hoping that a clearer Subject
heading will attract the knowledgeable forum contributors I'm
seeking. Thank-you...

I am hoping this is a quick easy question for someone! :)
I am trying (struggling) with moving data from Sql Server to a Lotus
Notes table.
I am using SQL Server 2000, I have a Lotus Notes linked server (using
NotesSQL), and I wasnt to clear the table (delete all records) and then
reload it from my data on SQL Server.
What is the syntax to delete the records?

have entered the field names just as they are in the table and I have
tried replacing the spaces and...

I moved my database from Access to MySQL. I then installed ODBC 3.51 driver for MySQL.
I'm getting the following error:

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
