Synchronization of two SQL Server databases

1 New Member
Hi

I have two similar MS-SQL databases running at two different locations. How do I synchronize the data in those via a dial up internet connection?
I would appreciate your help/tips on this.

Hi all, I've got a question concerning synchronization of multiple database clients. Consider a database, accessed by two clients. Is it guarantted, that if client 1 succefully commits a transaction, client 2 _instantly_ sees the changes made by client 1? thx and regards, Stephan

Hi, Our company is an independent Voice applications solution provider with number clients using our suite. Hello Everyone We have a third party tool which maintains its own custom database,DB1 on SQL Server 2000 on Server A (Windows 2000). We built an inhouse application which maintains a transactional database, DB2 also on Server A derived from DB1. Since the DB1 is frequently updated the synchronisation between the databases is currently maintained by using views in DB2 which pulls in all the required data from across tables in DB1. But we...

Nothing got wrong with DB2 COMMIT, db2 cfg, ... Even you did an "insert some_id+1 ..." immediately after you did "select max(some_id) from .... " in session1. This will not block the operations which submitted by the other processes/threads. Before the INSERT, DB2 will not prevent the other SELECT MAX(some_id) from this table. So the following case could happen, Suppose in session A: Begin a transactionA Select max(id) from mytable;...

Hi All, I have built 2 VB6-ACCESS XP, programs (ADODC component used). The software works fine, updates the database and all, without any troubles. I however now need to do something else with this. The 2 programs are identical, they are built for 2 offices 200 miles apart, and I want the programs to synchronize the data between the 2, automatically. The 2 computers do not have static IP's, they however do have internet access via...

I orginally posted this to microsoft.public.sqlserver.ce but had not received any responses. I have a CF.NET application (C#) with a SqlCE database. We had originally planned to use SQL Authentication to replicate with the publication and indeed had SQL Authentication working flawlessly. Then our client asked us to use Windows Authentication instead. For incremental changes, Windows authentication works fine. When trying to do the...

Say you need to serve the same Web content from a number of IP address, which you need to keep out there with high availability requirements ~ I think Web Services would be a good candidate for the synchronization of Web pages/content. ~ What some frameworks do is database development and then let the databases themselves do the synchronization (Should I update my knowledge of this subject ;-))

I am starting to study internet synchronization, and my head is still spinning since internet is not my forte, however my boss is breathing down my neck at the moment. Our company has only one server with fixed IP address provided by our ISP, while the other sites (which I wish in the future hold the replicas databases) have only standard internet connections with Dynamic IP (which means that they change IP addresses, as given by the ISP...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
