In VB.NET I would like to not have to create property get/set procedures for every class variable I want to expose to Excel VBA projects in COM builds. Can anyone tell me if that is possible, or refer me to some documents that will make me understand why this apparent limitation of VB.NET COM builds is acceptable, i.e. why in "good" object code programs I should expect to never have to create large numbers of public class variables that...

A Question to the C#/.Net Gods of this forum: are there performance penalties when i compile (C#, FW1.1, ASP.NET, Studio2003) a central baseclass in a different assembly than all the derived classes? f.i. ive got a class dbobject i project "Basesupport", compiles to Basesupport.dll. From dbobject i derive about 100 classes, thy all are located in Project

I am trying to find a way to not have to reference an object in all my projects, since it is initialized & instantiated in my Common class. I have a 4 tier project (presentation, rules, dal, common) where my common project initializes and configures things such as log4net (and several others). However, I can't simply call MyLog4Net.Warn(""), no matter if I create the common class as a singleton with a public accessor returning...

Hi All, Wondering if a tool exists to generate "cross reference" documentation for Python code bases? Particularly after something like phpxref - http://phpxref.sourceforge.net/ : written in Perl, scans a bunch of PHP scripts and generates HTML output that allows you to see all the classes / methods / functions / variables defined and (what I'm interested in) where they are referenced. Essentially something like

I am looking for a tool capable of producing HTML pages from source files written in different languages, where the source written in one language is a port of the source written in another language. Primarily, I need to be able to create hyperlinks - e.g. through the use of tagged comments in the source - linking corresponding code, all the way down to the statement level, between the original source codebase and the ported

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
