Hi, i'm trying to run a stored procedure:
"EXECUTE dbname.dbo.spGi d 'KFT', '0000000011,000 0000012', 'merch,DSMT',
'2006-02-01 00:00:00', '2006-02-28 00:00:00'"
and gives me this error:
The identifier that starts with
"EXECUTE dbname.dbo.spGi d 'KFT', '0000000011,000 0000012', 'merch,DSMT',
'2006-02-01 00:00:00', '2006-02-28 00:00:00'"
is too long. Maximum length is 128.
Anyone could help?

Try removing the double quotes around the statement:
EXECUTE dbname.dbo.spGi d
'KFT',
'0000000011,000 0000012',
'merch,DSMT',
'2006-02-01 00:00:00',
'2006-02-28 00:00:00'
You might also consider passing date strings in format yyyymmdd so that it's
independent of the DATEFORMAT setting.
EXECUTE dbname.dbo.spGi d
'KFT',
'0000000011,000 0000012',
'merch,DSMT',
'20060201 00:00:00',
'20060228 00:00:00'

am I right assuming that the maximum length for a varchar field
I can fetch with the sybase_fetch_* functions is 255?
This maximum can only be circumvented by using a text or image col, right?
Or am I completely lost?
