No. I could not find anything in Books Online, but since this seems like
something you would want to, I inquired in our private MVP forum. But
there is no possbility to do this during setup.

The good news is that if you need do this programmaticall y - and I suppose
that is why you ask - you can use WMI post-install to do this. I don't know
much about WMI myself, but I was offered these links:

If I have a machine with 3 virtual IP addresses (192.168.1.), how can I start 3 instances of the same RMI application (each started with different properties/configs), each listening on the port 1234, but each instance binds to a different ip address. that is to say: instance #1 binds to 192.168.1.5/port 1234 instance #2 binds to 192.168.1.6/port 1234 instance #3 binds to 192.168.1.7/port 1234

To whom it may concern, The serial port server 'cnhd38' has been terminated (on who's initiative, I don't know). It affects the users of the (at least) following nodes: cnhd36, cnhd44, cnhd45, cnhd46, cnhd47. The new terminal server to use is called 'msp-t01'. The port numbers that are of interest for the nodes mentioned above are as follows:

I'm wondering if python is capable of fairly precise timing and also sending data out the parallel port. For example ; making a 7.5 KHz square wave come out of one of the data pins on the printer port. I've tried to help myself with this one but searching in the "Python Library Reference" that installed with my version, yielded nothing on the subject of either timing or parallel port.

Hello Experts, Can you please help me out? I am very frustrated! I am trying to update import specification, and it does not let me do that. Hi, I'm exporting data from MSAccess to a *.txt file using VBA. I have already set up specification to TAB delimited, no Commas for Text and saved it ( .. in File>Export, etc) The problem is that current Database can be opened from different computers. Instead of setting Specification names on each computer, help file says that it's possible to create and *.ini file to extract specification name directly from it.

Is there an official specification for .NET serialization? I've looked at the .NET framework docs and read Jeffrey Richter's MSDN articles, but I'm looking for something more complete, corresponding to the specification of Java serialization found at http://java.sun.com/products/jdk/1.2/docs/guide/serialization/spec/serialTOC.doc.html

Is it possible to specify which port to use as the outbound port on a connection? I have the IP address and port number for the computer I'm trying to connect to (not listening for), but it's expecting my connection on a certain port. Specifically, I'm trying to write an FTP host, and I'm trying to implement the PORT command. From everything I've read, the client supplies the IP address and port number for where I'm supposed to connect...

I am aware that when importing a file it's possible to save a specification that says, for example, treat a particular field as text, whenever importing a file of exactly the same format. It's also possible to use the TransferText method with such a specification as an argument. However, it's a complete pain having to save a different specification for every new file format.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
