Hi,
We have setup a publisher and a distributor in SQL 2000 running SP3.
Alongwith this we have setup a merge replication agent and its running
successfully inside the same network. I allow anonymous subscriptions and
the merge publication works successfully for anonymous pull subscriptions
also.
Now i am trying to setup the same scenario to setup replication over the
Internet using FTP. I have created a FTP site and given certain...

Greetings All, I was hoping that a replication sage might be able to
answer a question for me.
I want to have one subscriber subscribing to N publishers. I
essentially have a company that has a main headquarters and three
satellite offices. I want each of the satellite offices to push their
data up to the master database. From what I have read it seems like
this should not be a problem. Some questions that come to mind are:

I have a TSQL script to add daily tables to replication and then run
the snapshot agent to distribute them to two subscribers. The script
executes without errors, but when I check the running jobs for each
server I see the following:
JUST AN EXAMPLE
Job1 'Category' REPL-Snapshot
Job2 'Category' REPL-Distribution
What is the difference between these two categories? Also 'Job1' works

Hi
I tried posting this query in microsoft.public.sqlserver.programming but got
no response.
I am new to replication but I am trying to setup up a transactional
replication of tables from one database to another in MSSQL 2000 (SP2).
My target tables have primary keys defined. Under publication properties I
go to the snapshot tab and for each table I clear the check box that says

I am running transactional replication, replicating a 300 GB database.
When building the original subscription, I did not run a snapshot, but
initialized my subscription through backup.
Now, when I'm adding a new article, I'm unable to initialize it using
the snapshot agent.
On the other hand, if I initialize my subscription through snapshot,
I'm later able to add individual articles without having to
reinitialize the entire...

First a bit about what I' trying to do.
I'm running SQL Server 2005 Developer edition on my dev box. I've got
two instances set up and am trying to set up transactional replication
(with both immediate and queued updates) between the two instances.
The windows account I'm using to run the replication agents (dist,
logreader, snapshot and queuereader) is a domain account with the same
rights as the SQLServerAgent on my box.

Hi,
I am developing a mobile application for the Motorola Q. We have
decided on using Merge Replication for synchronizing the remote server
and the hand-held. My question is, What happens to the local SDF file
that was included in the visual studio file after final deployment??
It will soon become out of date after a few updates between the client
and server, so does it ever update? If we were to deploy a new
version of the software,...

Hi,
I have transactional replication set up on on of our MS SQL 2000 (SP4)
Std Edition database server
Because of an unfortunate scenario, I had to restore one of the
publication databases. I scripted the replication module and dropped
the publication first. Then did a full restore.
When I try to set up the replication thru the script, it created the

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
