Show Server Trace Missing in SQL Management Studio?

In Query Analyzer I could go to the Query menu and select Show Server
Trace and it would give me trace information with duration, CPU, Reads
and Writes cost. I have been using SQL Server 2005 for a couple months
now and I can't seem to find that option in SQL Management Studio. Am I
missing something?

Most people who have moved to Mgmt Studio from QA seems to be missing
something. There were so many features from QA that Microsoft did not carry
on to Mgmt Studio.

On http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/productfeedback/ you can submit bugs
and suggestions for SQL 2005.

Hi, When I click on the properties of a linked server, all the General properties are read - only, which means that if I want to edit any general properties I have to delete the linked server and recreate it. Needless to say this is a pain. Is this by design or some kind of bug? Is there a workaround? Thanks

I'm calling several SQL Server 2005 stored procedures from Visual Basic 2005. I've got one stored procedure that locks up at the same point everytime, but if I copy the stored procedure from the SQL Profiler trace and paste it into SQL Server Management Studio it runs fine -- I even tried setting the timeout in Visual Studio to unlimited to see if the procedure would ever complete and it doesn't. What the hell is going on? Here is the...

I recently installed SQL Server 2005 (Management Studio Express) along with SQL Server 2005 Express (Configuration Manager) in my Win2K Pro m/c & use IIS 5.0 to run ASPX projects. I could add my database, named "MyDB", successfully. I am using the Windows Authentication mode to login to SQL Server. My server name is "AD\SQLEXPRESS" where "AD" is the name of my m/c. I could even establish a connection to the server & the database from...

I have run aspnet_regsql to setup the database to handle event recording. I am fairly sure I am missing something in my web.config file. (I would...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
