We have to build some script were I work to make a dynamic server inventory.
But, the project team, a windows crew, start it all in vbscript and on
mssql. Note, due to political reason, we can not use mysql or anyother
one that are not *authorize*, it's oracle or mssql. Now we have to make
it work also with our sun and HP unix server(plus one Linux).
So I propose to use python, and after they see my litle python/wxwindow

Hi,
I'm hoping someone on the list has connected to sybase/MsSQL with something
that works with DBAPI 2.0 from a linux box (SUSE 9.2) because I can't seem
to get it done. I found Object Craft's python code that uses FreeTDS. But
I can't get it compiled. The code is looking for "sybdb.h" (first error) -
of course I don't have "sybdb.h". It is not in Object Crafts code nor in
the FreeTDS source. I'm guessing that I need sybase develop...

I connect to a microsoft SQL server from php. Php is running on linux
(debian sarge) with the freetds package.
The connection is secured through stunnel (version 3.26), with stunnel
running locally on the web server and locally on the SQL server
machine.
This means php connects locally to the stunnel port, which then

I'm using Sybase driver under Linux and I'm trying to connect to MSSQL
server 2000.
But unfortunately connection fails.
In Event Log on my Win 2k3 SBS I'm getting the following error message:

Hi,
I need one web site in UTF8 with MSSQL2005 (customer request)
Configuration:
IIS6+PHP5/Win2003 (Czech locales)--> MSSQL/Win2003
Database returns data in CP1250, rest is correct in UTF8.
I was tray Freetds. Config file I have in c:\freetds.conf, but IIS don't read it
(probably) and don't use 'client encoding = UTF-8'.

i read out an utf-8 xml file with greek or russian/cyrillic
characters. i can display it in the browser but if i insert data into
an mssql database -field is nvarchar(4000)- i only see ??? or
incorrect characters.

the use of SNMP or WMI-perl scripts (for example via MRTG or Cacti)?

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
