Hi,
We have setup a publisher and a distributor in SQL 2000 running SP3.
Alongwith this we have setup a merge replication agent and its running
successfully inside the same network. I allow anonymous subscriptions and
the merge publication works successfully for anonymous pull subscriptions
also.
Now i am trying to setup the same scenario to setup replication over the
Internet using FTP. I have created a FTP site and given certain...

Hi,
I have implemented Snapshot replication on my database server. The
publisher, distributor and the subscriber are in the same machine.
There is a database 'X' that gets replicated every night to database
'Reportdb' on the same machine.
The snapshot agent is scheduled to run every night at 10pm on all
weekdays except sunday.

I have a TSQL script to add daily tables to replication and then run
the snapshot agent to distribute them to two subscribers. The script
executes without errors, but when I check the running jobs for each
server I see the following:
JUST AN EXAMPLE
Job1 'Category' REPL-Snapshot
Job2 'Category' REPL-Distribution
What is the difference between these two categories? Also 'Job1' works

Hello Group,
I'm working on two SQL server databases on two different remote
servers. What client needs is that his database on one remote server
should be mirrored to the other one. The changed should be propogated at
regular intervals at the other server.
For now i'm quite sure that i'll have to use replication to resolve
this issue.
But which type of replication should i use? Transactional, Merge or

I have replicated a database as a snapshot replication. I have
scheduled distribution agent to run at the interval of one hour daily
from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Do i also need to schedule snapshot agent
accordingly? what would be optimal schedule or it depends on
distribution agent
Quick reply will be appreciated

I have never used replication before and I have been asked to consider
it in a project I am currently working on.
I have created an application for a sales team which is loaded on their
machines, it uses ms sql as its data source and connects via the
internet back to the central server in the office.
Problem is this has shown to be too slow causing time out error
messages and so on. I have been told to research the possibility of...

You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
