I keep getting the following error message when I run a serie of SQL
commands:
Server: Msg 9002, Level 17, State 6, Line 15
The log file for database 'tempdb' is full.
Back up the transaction log for the database
to free up some log space.
I have tried "dump transaction tempdb with no_log" right before I run
the SQL command. But that doesn't help.

Hi,
I'm using MSSQL2000. Is there any way to change the collation of
tempdb database? I just realized that my devel and production tempdb
have different collation and would like to get them in synch,
Thanks,
Rolando

Something strange is happening to our SQL Server DB (2000). The
tempdb transaction log file continues to grow (quite slowly) for no
apparent reason. We have it in simple mode, and I have tried a manual
checkpoint command and manual shrink (of the log file only). There
are no unusual SQL's (large or small) going on. A "heavy hitter" would
make it grow fast, not 10 MB every 30 minutes or so. This server has
been in production for over a...

Hi,
I've got a production server with the default collation
and User DBs with the different collation.
Now when I create temporary tables and compare with the permanent ones
we have collation problems. Is it possible to change tempdb ( and
model) collations ?
Would I need to change master and msdb collations as well?
Can I change the master collation? What about all the tables that
already exist in these system databases?
Is it fairly...

Hi,
I'm installing SQL2000 on a new cluster server.
I selected a 'custom installation' and was presented with a
'Collation settings' screen.
I need it to be SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS collation
as I will be restoring databases with this collation.
What should I choose from the 'Collation designator' and 'SQL
Collations' box.
Is it 'Dictionary order, case-insensitive, for use with 1252
characters'?

Hi,
The tempdb db is having different collation than the application db.
I rebuilt the master db with the appropriate collation after backing up
master, model, msdb, appln databases.
On restore of the databases (master, model, msdb, appln) from the backup
restores the backed up database collation.

Hi Group,

created and after that values are inserted in these tables. But this
Stored Procedure is called from Java Portal. When then Stored Procedure

tables are created in tempDB and locking the entire Database.
So at the same time if...

Hi,
We have around 150 databases as case sensitive, and we are planning to
change it to case insensitive. Each database has around 180 tables, I
have changed the collation on DB, but changing collation manually on
each column is a daunting process. Is there any script or tool which
can assist in doing this.
Appreciate your help.

I have just upgraded to SQL Server 2005 from SQL Server 2000.
In Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, when I click on database
properties, I receive the following error:-
Cannot resolve the collation conflict between
"Latin1_General_CI_AS"
and "SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS" in the equal to operation.
(Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 468)

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
